Was invited out to the new Palmer track this afternoon to put in a few slow exploratory laps. The paving is complete - both the base and finish coat. The track is spectacular - wide - smooth with tons of elevation changes - some nice blind corners. The track was much better in person than the Elec Spec Ford video from last week - the runoff room will be OK once the finish grading is done.
There is still a bunch of work to be done - curbing, guardrails, barriers and pit lane but it looks like a late May 15 opening. This will be a great track for a VRG event!

Hmmmm - the caption says the curbing is being tested to see if it works "in both directions". Great idea - run two groups at once by starting half of the cars in one direction and half in the other... What could go wrong?

Well, they could paint a line down the middle of the track and tell everyone to stay on their own side.
But should we drive on the right side or left side...?

That's easy - British on the left, everyone else on the right!
