Is anybody using the Schroth Super Sport XLT FHR (HANS) Device? They say they are FIA 8858-2010 Approved so I think that makes them legal for all the vintage organizations. I can buy one of these from across the pond for less than the price of getting my DeFnder device recertified and I think since the Schroth devices are FIA approved they don't need recertified in the future. Was looking for some possible first hand experience.

I have looked at it and it seems very well designed and made. It is similar to the HANS in that it only controls fore and aft motion so a head containment seat is needed to control side-to-side motion. I am currently using a HANS with a full containment seat so I am not in the market for new HNR. But if I were, I would look at the Schroth Flex which I think has several advantages over the XLT and the HANS. First of all it accommodates better to your torso, has a flexible angle but most importantly the dual tether also provides some lateral support not unlike that seen with the DeFndr.

Hi Marty,

I use the Schroth Flex. It works extremely well in my Cooper. My first HNR was a Necks Gen, which I really liked...the Schroth unit is a bit more comfortable in my application.

It seems to be well made and sturdy.
