VRG's Turkey Bowl XXI takes place Friday, November 24-Sunday, November 26th and it is now open for registration at: ... oup-730987

Complete information, including a preliminary Schedule and FAQ's is posted on the VRG site at:

Earlybird registration at $300.00 for VRG members and $350.00 for non-members is available till November 10th after which prices go up to $340.00/$390.00 through November 22nd. Registration at the event is $375.00/$425.00. If you're even thinking about participating you should definitely register now as with our liberal cancellation policy there is no risk: If for any reason you cannot make it just send me an email prior to 9:00 AM on Friday telling me you will not attend and 100% of your prepayment will be refunded--no excuses needed, no questions asked! You can pay via credit card online or send a check--or you can pay when you register at the track, but remember that we are not able to process credit cards at the track--cash or personal checks only. Banquet tickets do require prepayment and cannot be cancelled after Friday, November 10 so we can give the restaurant a final count.

Turkey Bowl is a low-pressure event, family-friendly and we are there to enjoy one last race before finishing for the season. We don't do any timing and scoring--we just race on one of the nation's premier tracks. We have three vintage groups: Small, Medium and Big-bore and each group gets 2-1/2 hours of seat time over the weekend--even more if one participates in the optional Relay Race for which there is no extra charge. As in the past we invite drivers of Modern cars (meaning cars too new to be considered Vintage!) to participate in a separate run group.

All drivers must be appropriately licensed and cars must meet safety equipment requirements and pass tech inspection in order to participate. Feel free to contact me at: with any questions regarding car or driver eligibility.

As in the past we offer a complimentary Continental Breakfast each morning and this year's Saturday night banquet will take place at Piccadilly's Brew Pub in downtown Winchester, VA--$45.00 for adults/$25.00 for kids.

I hope you'll join us for a great weekend and look forward to seeing you--Michael Oritt, event Coordinator

With the conclusion of a great race weekend at Dominion Raceway we can now turn our attention to Turkey Bowl XXI which is the season finale for VRG and many vintage racers.

Turkey Bowl offers a great and last chance for several months to get on the track, and during those long, dreary days of January-February you will have memories of a wonderful race weekend to think about.

It also offers a boatload of seat time--like two and one half hours of it--spread across three days. So whether you want to work on refining your driving skills, pinpoint some car issues to be sorted out over the winter, or just have some great and close racing with your fellows at one of the nation's premier race tracks, Turkey Bowl is for you!

This event is positively the best deal in the Vintage Racing world: Earlybird registration is only $300.00 for VRG members/$350.00 for non-members until November 10 after which things bump up $40.00 until November 22, then $75.00 for at-track registration. With our guaranteed right of cancellation up until the morning of the event there is absolutely no risk in signing up early. You don't even have to pay now and can do so day of the event--cash or personal checks are welcome but we cannot process credit cards at the track.

While you are registering be sure to sign up for the Saturday night banquet at the Piccadilly's Brew Pub in downtown historic Winchester. There will be great food and fine fellowship for the reasonable price of only $45.00 per person ($25.00 for kids 12 and under). Due to restaurant requirements tickets must be purchased by and cannot be canceled after November 10.

For complete scheduling and FAQ's go the the VRG website at: and scroll down the event page to Turkey Bowl. Or contact me for further information. I hope to see you there.

VRG members can register for the upcoming Turkey Bowl between now and November 10th at the Earlybird rate of only $300.00 which will entitle them to 150 minutes of seat time over the November 24-26 weekend--plus additional time in the optional relay race at no extra cost! Non-members can register for an additional $50.00.

There is absolutely no risk in registering early: Register and pay online or by check and if your plans change for any reason simply send me an email by 9:00 AM Friday, the day of the event, and you'll get a 100% refund. Or just register now and pay at registration (cash or checks only--no credit cards at the track).

Turkey Bowl is a special low-pressure family-friendly event and in addition to the usual vintage groups we also have separate run groups for "Modern" cars and Legends racers as well. We accept licenses from most any recognized organization, including SCCA and contact me if you have any questions about either car or driver eligibility.

Long-range forecasts are calling for the usual great Turkey Bowl weather with sunny days and temperatures of around 50 degrees. Night-time temperatures usually go down around the freezing mark so we allow--and suggest--that you put in some antifreeze and warm your cars up well before getting on the track And to warm yourselves up for the day's racing we'll have the usual complimentary Continental breakfast served in the classroom each morning.

Speaking of food there will be an optional sit-down banquet at 6:00 PM on Saturday evening at the famous Piccadilly Brew House and Pub in downtown Winchester Va. We have a private room, great food, fine fellowship and an interesting after-dinner presentation. It's only $45.00 ($25.00 for kids 12 and under) and simply make your reservation online prior to the November 10 cancellation cut off.

Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to get in a lot of great racing at a terrific track and register today. Go to and scroll down to the Turkey Bowl.

I hope to see you there!

Your opportunity to sign up for VRG's Turkey Bowl XXI at the discounted Early Bird rate ends this Friday, November 10 at 11:59 PM, after which fees increase by $40.00. Please go to and scroll down to "Turkey Bowl" to register today.

Your registration is 100% cancelable till the morning of the event with no fee, penalty or surcharge and you can pay now or day of the event. In any case there is no risk and in return you'll get 2-1/2 hours of seat time at world-famous, newly resurfaced Summit Point Raceway. That comes out to $2.00 per minute--definitely the best value in vintage racing available anywhere.

If you're worried about the weather--DON'T! Aside from the fact that the forecast is for the usual mild Turkey Bowl weather (50 degree days, 30 degree nights) if you or the weather gods should have a change of mind simply cancel via email to me by 9:00 AM the day of event and that's that, no questions asked, no excuses necessary. You can protect your engine from low temps with anti-freeze and we'll provide you with free continental breakfasts each day to warm you up before racing begins.

Whether you're about to register or have already done so please remember that November 10 is also the cutoff date to cancel/register for the Saturday night banquet which this year will be held at the charming "Piccadilly's Pub and Brewhouse" in historic downtown Winchester, VA. We'll have a sit-down dinner in a private room with great food and fine fellowship. Register online for what will be a great evening--$45.00 per person, $25.00 for kids.

Don't miss out on a great time--take five minutes and sign up now.
