Custom wood-rimmed steering wheels

Post by Mack McCormack »

Although not really a "parts for sale" candidate I thought this might be the most appropriate place to post a link to this craftsman who makes wood-rimmed steering wheels. I stumbled upon this site while reading a vintage Saab forum. Wood-rimmed wheels are not really recommended for racing however for that concours restoration it might be just the thing. If nothing else they sure are nice to look at. Enjoy

Mack,

Good find. About 2 years ago I ordered one of these from Mike Lempert for the 1954 Healey I'm restoring. If I recall correctly, he does not have any inventory as each wheel is custom made to order. I think it took about 3 or 4 months which was no issue for my 7+ year project. He does a nice job and it really looks good.
