This is a huge help. That track changes so much in between events with potholes disappearing and reappearing, not to mention there's so many turns it take a long time to get reference points down. Thanks Stefan!

I'll second Ian's comment--I crashed my Courier at Schenley badly this year when I hit a pothole in the serpentines, locked the brakes and went into (fortunately not OVER) the low retaining wall. I had intended to do the track walk and had I done so would have seen the offending hole but got distracted and missed it to my severe detriment.

That was a tough break Michael.
If you watched my video in the Lotus this year, I'm sure you will notice that I hit that same bump and have to dial in a very quick but relatively small piece of countersteer every lap. It was an unwelcome ripple in what is already one of the most difficult parts of the course.

I hadn't driven the Lotus at Schenley before this race, not even in the practice or qualifying, so it was a bit of an education to start out.

Maybe we could identify the new potholes with temporary, water soluble paint?
Just a circle around them would be a big help.
I guess the city would not want us to fill them.

It should be noted that the track surface last year was the best it has been for many years. Probably the best I've seen it since I started racing there 10 years ago. A great deal of new pavement was refreshing to see... Even if it does diminish one of my advantages.

As said earlier the Schenley Park track varies year after year. I remember driving round in the truck in 2010 & thinking how good the asphalt patches were until I drove around in the MG TD - ghastly!! The notorious black patch on the next to last turn was horrendous in 2013 but I was able to drive over it in 2012. The exit onto the start / finish is UGLY but overall its a wonderful track and a fantastic event.
My video is from 2012 qualifying and is sort of more sedate than Stefans. Looks like a drive in the park but its a workout!!

The 2013 race video isn't very clear because of condensation on the lens I think - something else to work on!
