 Brake failure at Lime Rock

On August 31, at the Lime Rock Historics, my brakes failed and I crashed my e-type into the Armco at the bottom of the uphill.

The failure was truly bizarre - the brakes worked normally until you hit the pedal hard. Then there were no brakes.

I traced the failure to a design flaw in the Lockheed master cylinder that I had purchased shortly prior to the event and I've enclosed a report on what I found.

If anyone has purchased a new Lockheed master cylinder recently, you might want to read it.

Sorry I'll miss Watkins Glen. Still fixing the Jag...

Thanks for posting your findings. Even if we have parts of different manufacture, it sounds like it is a Good Idea to thoroughly test the components.

Wow, that's horrible. I'm sorry you went through that, but good on you for really delving into it and getting to the bottom of the problem. Not doing that can not only cause the problem to get missed, but can also really hurt your confidence in the car going forward. I'm glad you don't need to worry about that now.
