This car is owned by VRG member, and all around good sir, Kevin Michael. Scott has been tasked with repairing the frame for this car, as well as fabricating a roll cage. This album has pictures from the original sale listing, through it's travels to our shop, and up to recently where the floors and frame have been repaired. Roll cage is being bent currently. http://imgur.com/a/JoOst#0I'll add more as we make progress on the cage. Luckily...someone else has to deal with the bodywork... **edit** changed title, because roman numerals are just better **edit*

Ian:
The Mark III coupe must be a pretty rare model. Any idea of how many were produced? Any pics of a complete one to see what you will have when done?

Mack, Kevin knows the specifics, but I think the number is around 35. This is one of the few (only?) with independent rear suspension. There's one here at http://race-cars.com/carsales/elva/1371936290/1371936290ss.htm - but it's rear is different, more of the Ford Anglia style. There's a MkIV here, which is the same body style: http://atspeedimages.com/search.php?s=1964+Elva+Courier+mk+IV+Coupe

Yes, I know the silver car with the notched back from Mosport. I think I like the sloping rear deck better. It looks nice in white. Have you picked a color yet?

Not yet - I'll ask Kevin to swing by the thread. I'm sure his ears are burning. Perhaps a nice McLaren orange? I do like white, trying to talk Scott in painting the next Mini white....

From the pic it looks like it is LHD. Is that correct? Unusual?

I really like the look of the coupe body style, I can't wait to see it in person! I hope it's not as fast as a MkIV though

Mike,
It's certainly different looking, I expect it should do pretty well with a good motor and driver, but I guess we'll just have to wait and find out at the track! Looking forward to watching the progress on your build. Very cool to have similar cars being revived along side each other.
I will have more to add in a bit, we're about halfway done fabbing the cage, then I think the dash and support structure for it are next on Scott's punch list. Aiming for Turkey Bowl to shake it down.

Turkey Bowl?? I hadn't heard that. I thought we were moving the debut from the Wild Hare to Schenely Park! You guys are killing me.
As for color, I'm clueless. Scott suggested French Racing Blue with yellow surrounding the grill opening.
I can't wait to see Mike's Mk IV! That is going to be great.
I read somewhere that there were 35 coupes built. Elva moved the engine forward to increase passenger comfort in the Mk 3 cars, and this led to some handling problems. Supposedly, there were two coupes built with the engine back in the Mk II position. One was built into a race car specifically for a race in Sebring (I think) and this car is the other one. It will be interesting to do some measuring at the races to see if this story holds water. In typical Elva fashion, they ran out of funding to send the car to the race so they sold it locally.
This car has IRS also. I believe Elva sourced the IRS from TVR.
