Registration is now open on motorsportreg for the Whiskey Hill Historic races on August 15 and 16. We (VRG) has a great opportunity with what should be a great weekend event at this wonderful new course in MA, near the Mass Pike between Springfield and Worcester. The track will also be having a test day on Friday and it's highly recommended to join that as well if you can. This is a beautiful, complex track with lots of elevation change and will be a challenge for all racers.

The trackside amenities are under development, but the track is ready for us. Come join us as we start a new event that's sure to be a hit!

I signed in at MotorSportsReg and found the registration page. But it wants me to choose a fee-based item - I couldn't find that...

Hi Eric,

my mistake. I messed something up in the motorsportreg system. I'm trying to fix it and will let you know when it's fixed.

The option to choose member/non-member fee is now present.

I didn't see a place to enter choice of car number...

Hi Eric (and others who may be wondering the same thing):

In Motorsportreg, the preferred car numbers (3 choices) are entered on the "car information" page, along with the make/model/transponder number and other car details. Once this is done once, it does not change unless you go in and change it (or ask one of the registrars to change it for you). In other words, your preferred numbers are the same for all events that you enter - unless you change them, or we change them on your behalf and request.

So if you are being assigned an odd number that you do not understand - the field must have been filled out somehow incorrectly. We can change it or you can give it a try to change it (or both).

Mike

p.s. Eric, it seems your number preferences are: 1st: 61, 2nd: 611, 3rd: 161. If that has changed or you would like to change it, please let me know.

No, that is good.

Now if you can do something about my ability to recall things, please let me know. Just ` t y p e ` s l o w l y ` so I can understand.

I am signed up to run the Ginetta G4 and am looking forward to racing at a new track.

I had hoped to be racing this weekend at PIRC but unfortunately I bent my trailer's front axle on the way to Palmer and it took until this past Friday to get a replacement. I've used the time to fix some things that happened at Palmer:

1. On Saturday I broke a throttle cable and did not have a suitable replacement so I had to leave early. The gas pedal was almost inaccessible so I cut an access plate which now makes an impossible job only difficult.

2. When I went through tech I found that only one brake light was working. On inspection I found that whoever ran the brake wiring had used multiple short pieces of wire with the result that there were several unnecessary and poorly made butt connections. I ripped out the entire circuit and pulled all-new wire with a minimum of connectors to go bad. so hopefully I will not have to deal with brake lights at the track (Famous last words....)

Best--Michael Oritt

Can you provide info about the Friday test day/track orientation? Is there a separate place to sign up? Cost?

Anyone know if there is electrical power? We'll be staying in our motorhome. It is self-contained but 110 power is nice to have.

Eric,

I'll be putting the details of the test day signup on the FAQ sheet but a preview is: Go here: http://www.palmermotorsportspark.com/Ev ... px?ID=div8

sign up for a login, then you can register for the test day. 9-5 is $350, 1-5 is $250.

I do not believe electrical hookups will be available yet, but they could be. I'll put that on my list to keep asking about along with some of the other amenities that we're hoping for but may not be ready.

Mike

Browsing Palmer's web site I saw this: "The default sound limit is 96 decibels on the A scale measured at 50 feet from the track edge. Vehicles violating the dB limit will be black flagged." http://www.palmermotorsportspark.com/TrackInfo.aspx

Is this likely to be an issue for our cars?
