Jim, do you need volunteers to help out at school this year, I'd like to help?

Mike, we can always use more volunteers. I saw your email to Ed Valpey, I'm sure he will be responding to you.

Thanks...

OK, I am eager to register for VRG's Driver's School and the Jefferson 500.

I have some newbie questions.

1) How to I enter a competition license number (since I don't yet have one)?

2) What class do I place my MGA into? (basically stock 1961 MGA 1600 - the major modification is MGB kingpins & brake calipers)

3) Entry includes 2 crew - do I select the option to add crew only if I need to add more? (i.e. leave it at '0' unless adding more than the included 2?)

4) Any advice about choosing race numbers? Are they usually 2 digit or 3 digit? Is there a list available showing which numbers are already 'spoken for'?

Enter your VRG membership number.

Leave it set to ZERO unless you need additional crew slots.

Numbers at the Jefferson 500 are first come first served. You may want to take a look at previous years results sheets though to see what other people are using. It is always easier to pick a number that other people don't normally use to avoid conflicts. I've attached a copy from last years race for your reference.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!

Next question - payment. I note that VRG offers full refund if I have to cancel. Does that include the on-line pay by check option? If not, where do I mail a check?

If you hit "skip payment" it will give you the address to send the check to.

Hi Jim,

I plan to enter my Formula Ford and share the driving with my son. I presume we only pay a single entry fee for the one car, i.e. no extra charge for the second driver, correct?

Thanks

Denny, that is correct. Please be sure to fill out the Optional Driver #2 Info on the registration form.

Jim

Perfect - thanks Jim.

Leon (my son) has been racing Karts in WKA for 10+ years and has been instructing at Summit Point track events (FATT etc.) for about 2 years now. I don't think he will have any trouble qualifying for a vintage racing license but I'd like for him to get some track time experience with the Hewland gearbox etc. before turning him loose out there. What "level" school should I sign him up for?
