In case you haven't heard, John Geils passed away yesterday at age 71 in his home in Massachusetts:

Most of you will know his name from his successful career in music, with the band that bore his name, the J. Geils Band. But some may not realize his connection to vintage racing. He started KTR Engineering back in the 1980's, and at one time was Chief of Tech for VSCCA (his signature appears a few times in my first VSCCA log book for my MGA). He was an active competitor, mostly in Alfa Romeo's, throughout the 1980's and 1990's as I recall. Eventually he sold KTR but I believe he remained involved in the business.

A very talented man who lived a very interesting life. I'm sure he will be missed by all who knew him. My sympathies to his family and friends, and everyone at KTR.
